6 IMSU Law Graduates Reward Gov. Uzodimma With First Class At The Nigerian Law School ~ By Onyekachi A. Nwaozor, Anipr

As a way of expressing their gratitude to His Excellency, Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma, CON, (Onwa), the Executive Governor of Imo State, and as a confirmation of the quality teaching and learning they received from Imo State University (IMSU), Six Law graduates of Imo State University: Obijiaku Precious, Ifeanyichukwu Mezu, Duru Daberechi Vera, Ekwerike Sunshine, Bisi-Aretola Daniel Adeolu, and Iwuoha Amarachi Nmasinachi have made First Class, the remaining made Second Class Upper Division and Second Class Lower Division in the November 2024 Bar II of the Nigerian Law School. No Imo State University Law graduate made Pass or Fail.

As part of Governor Uzodimma's resolve to develop the education sector in Imo State and to encourage scholarship, his Shared Prosperity government paid the Law School Fees of all eligible Imo State University Law graduates, for November 2024 Bar II. Imo State Government under Senator Hope Uzodimma, considers education a fundamental investment towards development.

By providing corrupt-free and quality leadership, as well as a conducive academic environment for the generation and fertilization of creative ideas and knowledge, the Vice-Chancellor of Imo State University, Professor Uchefula U. Chukwumaeze, SAN, FCArb, and his Management Team dutifully keyed into the Shared Prosperity philosophy of Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma's government.

Upon assumption of office, Professor Chukwumaeze, SAN, FCArb, a seasoned lawyer, academic, and administrator per excellence, met a decayed and dying citadel of learning. After diligent efforts with the support of Governor Hope Uzodimma, the University has gradually been revived. Any progressive-minded stakeholder of the university can gladly say today that IMSU is back on track both in vision and capacity.

It is imperative to underscore the fact here that, Professor Chukwumaeze is one of the very few Vice-Chancellors in Nigeria (not up to 10) that still goes to class to teach. The result we are celebrating today is the evidence of the Vice-Chancellor's entering the class, teaching the students, while at the same time doing the work of a Vice-Chancellor. This is unprecedented in the history of Imo State University.

Imo State University under the watch of Professor Chukwumaeze has become a great source of pride for the entire Imo people, and as a leading citadel of learning in Nigeria. He is working hard to ensure that IMSU is among the best Universities in the world.

Professor Chukwumaeze and his Management Team have repositioned, reenergized, and almost rebranded Imo State University, and have continued to instill the efficiency and all-round discipline required to move the University forward.

The Vice-Chancellor, therefore, stated that it is a thing of great delight for the Imo State University community that her students have continued to blaze the trail as shown in the latest record-breaking Six First Class from one institution, at the Nigerian Law School.

He however, congratulated the students for making Imo State, Imo State Government, Imo State University, and their families proud, and urged them to continue to be the shining Stars of their generation, adding that as the ambassadors of Imo State University, they have to keep the light that has been enkindled in them, ever burning.
